Playing in the team’s biggest game of the season, and with teammate Kim Harker face-guarded for most of the game, Mahopac’s Kelly Maxwell stepped up in a major way on Saturday.
The senior, who scored two goals and an assist in Thursday in the team’s opening round sectional game against Clarkstown South, had four goals and three assists against third-seeded Mamaroneck in the sectional quarterfinal game to lead the Indians to an upset 11-9 win.
On the season, Maxwell currently has 41 goals and 51 assists. She holds the program record for career assists with 78, and broke the single-season record of 29 set in 2003.
Another strong performer for this week was Hen Hud’s Amber Feminella, who had a total seven goals and two assists in the team’s sectional wins over Rye Neck and Westlake.
