Last Wednesday, on April 29, Pleasantville’s Nicole DiFabio celebrated her 17th birthday in a big way.
She scored a program-record 10 goals and added an assist in the team’s 20-15 win over Westlake that day. She continued her strong play the rest of the week, scoring two goals in the team’s 18-7 loss to Edgemont on Friday, and followed that up with a four-goal, two-assist performance the following day in the team’s 15-15 tie against Putnam Valley.
In total, DiFabio had sixteen goals and three assists in three games.
Aside from DiFabio, I also want to give a shout-out to some of the other nominations I got for this week: Yorktown goalie Nikki Prestiano, who was steller in net to help the Huskers to a perfect week; Harvey’s Sadie Albert, a freshman who is leading the program to it’s best-ever start; and Westlake’s Emily Sardo, an eight-grader who is already one of Class C’s top offensive players.
If you want to nominate someone for the Beast of the Week, either tweet at me with the hashtag #BOTW or email me at email@example.com. I will announce a winner every Monday.
