Overall record: 39-5-5
Playoff record: 19-3
No. 7 John Jay at No. 2 Yorktown, 10 a.m.
Pick: Yorktown, 14-12. You can throw out the records and everything else you think you know about lacrosse when these two play. At the end of the day, it’s always a toss up having to pick between them. Yorktown has just been more consistent this season than the Indians, who have had an up and down season. I’ll take the Huskers.
No. 9 Fox Lane at No. 1 Somers, 11 a.m.
Pick: Somers, 15-12. Very tough draw for Somers, considering the Tuskers are the top seed. Still, I think Somers has just to many options on offense.
No, 6 Rye at No. 3 Ursuline, 2 p.m.
Pick: Rye, 10-9. Ursuline’s toughest game this season came against a team (Scarsdale) that was willing to slow the tempo and make it a defensive battle (The Koalas won 9-8). I think the Garnets have the defense and goalie to turn this into a chess match as opposed to a run-and-gun game, which suits Rye.
No. 5 Horace Greeley at No. 4 Nyack, 5 p.m.
Pick: Nyack, 14-10. The Quakers really seem to be hitting their stride, but I think the Indians’ strength at the draw circle will give them too many opportunities.
No. 5 Albertus Magnus at No. 4 Bronxville, noon
Pick: Bronxville 16-12. I think the Broncos get some revenge on Albertus after getting knocked out of the playoffs last season by the Falcons. Bronxville just has too much firepower for Albertus to keep up.
No. 6 Irvington at No. 3 Pleasantville, 1 p.m.
Pick: Pleasantville, 16-10. Panthers haven’t lost a game in over a month. Everything seems to be clicking for Pleasantville, who returns to the Class C semifinals.
No. 10 Hen Hud at No. 2 Pearl River, 1 p.m.
Pick: Pearl River, 14-9. Hen Hud is such a wild card, and the epitome of what Class C is all about. Wouldn’t shock me to see them pull off the upset. Still, I think the Pirates move on due to their depth on offense.
No. 8 Edgemont at No. 1 North Salem, 3 p.m.
Pick: Edgemont, 15-7. You can only base so much on common opponents, but both teams played Putnam Valley within three days of each other. Edgemont won 18-4. North Salem won 7-6.
