Teams were incorrectly awarded one point for a win and 1/2 for a tie as opposed to the four points for a win and two points for a tie, according to Section 1 coordinator Jennifer Simmons.
The committee initially met at 9 a.m. on Tuesday. After a few set of corrections, all three brackets were completed and finalized just before 4:30 p.m.
Upon further review, the committee realized it had used the wrong formula and met on Tuesday night to redo the seeds for all three classes.
On Tuesday night, Simmons said her biggest concern was letting the Class A and C schools playing on Wednesday know of the changes to the schedule as soon as possible. Two Class C outbracket games and five Class A first round games are scheduled for Wednesday. Simmons said despite the error there was no plan to delay the start of the tournament.
