Last Saturday Abby Squirrell was in Albany with her Ossining girls basketball teammates playing for the state Federation championship.
Six days later, Squirrell poured in six goals and dished off three assists in the Pride’s 19-7 win against Harrison. Basketball teammates Madison Strippoli and Jalay Knowles aided in the scoring, adding two goals and a goal, respectively.
Of the Pride’s 13-player girls basketball roster, eight also play lacrosse. Both teams are coached by Dan Ricci.
Gabby Hagerman (four goals, one assist) and Meghan Hooley (three goals) also stepped up for Ossining as well.
Best of the rest: Jasmine Reyes had five goals and an assist in Rye Neck’s 10-6 win over Keio. It was the first win in program history. Marina Kokubo had three goals for the Unicorns. … Steph Wagner scored the game-winning goal with eight seconds remaining in Putnam Valley’s 18-17 win against visiting Clarkstown South. Wagner finished with four goals. Eva Rabson added seven goals in the win. Jaime Morris had six goals and three assists in the Vikings’ loss. … Kim Harker had six goals and an assist in Mahopac’s 16-4 win over visiting Wappingers. Kelly Maxwell added three goals and three assists. … Pearl River’s Maggie Davin scored seven goals in a 12-8 win at Briarcliff. Lindsey Steven added three goals. Jordan Riccardi and Melanie Prinz each scored two goals for the Bears. … Clarkstown North’s Janie Lachman had five goals and two assists in an 18-2 win against visiting Croton-Harmon. Kyra Phelan added two goals and two assists. Astrella Dacosta and Teagan Burke each scored.
