I had another mediocre week, going 2-2-1. These ties are really starting to annoy me. Lucky for us, playoffs will be starting soon. We won’t have to worry about that nonsense.
As the season winds down the battle for league titles starts to come into focus. I tried to gear the games I picked toward that. All but one of my picks (Byram Hills/Pleasanvtille) have league implications.
Enough talk. Lets get to it.
Overall record: 12-6-2
Suffern at North Rockland, 4:15 p.m.
Pick: Suffern, 15-11. Top two teams in Class A meet up. Should be the closest game the Mounties have had against a Section 1 opponent so far. I still think Suffern gets it done.
Scarsdale at White Plains, 4:30 p.m.
Pick: White Plains, 12-10. Huge league game between these two sides. White Plains won the first meeting on road. They complete the sweep and take a two-game lead over Scarsdale in the standings.
Brewster at Yorktown, 4:30 p.m.
Pick: Yorktown, 13-9. Huskers had a scare against Lakeland/Panas. Brewster reeled off a couple nice wins against the Rebels and Mahopac. Still, Yorktown continues to roll.
Rye at Ossining, 6:30 p.m.
Pick: Ossining, 11-10. A lot is on the line with this one. The Pride need this one to keep them in good shape for a run at the league title. While winning the league might not be in the cards for the Garnets, every victory helps build momentum as teams prepare for playoffs.
Byram Hills at Pleasantville, 3 p.m.
Pick: Byram Hills, 12-9. The Panthers have been cruising thus far. This will be a real tough test for them though, and a potential playoff preview.
