Of all the games from last week’s predictions, the Somers-Lakeland/Panas game was disappointing. I said right in my picks that I thought the game would end up tie. Oh well. Life goes on.
This week is once again full of great match ups. Suffern gets a crack at a Class B favorite. Two solid Class A teams go at it. A pair of teams that seem to be heading in opposite directions meet up. Class C and league opponents tangle. And finally, a rematch of two of the best teams in the section.
Enough talk. Lets get to it.
Overall Record: 10-4-1
Brewster at Suffern, 4:30 p.m.
Pick: Suffern, 15-10. Mounties are undefeated against Section 1 opponents this season. The Bears will be the toughest one they have faced thus far, but they still get the win.
Mahopac at Scarsdale, 4:30 p.m.
Pick: Mahopac, 14-13. The Indians schedule allows them absolutely no rest. I think all those tough matches will start to pay dividends for Mahopac though. The Indians will be one of the more battle-tested teams in the section.
Bronxville at Mamaroneck, 7 p.m.
Pick: Bronxville 16-13. The teams enter the game on opposite ends of the spectrum. Mamaroneck has been on the upswing while the Broncos have dropped three straight.
Hen Hud at Putnam Valley, 4:30 p.m.
Pick: Putnam Valley, 13-9. A battle of Class C opponents. The Tigers need to use the momentum they gained from that last-second win against Somers to get a win against league-foe Hen Hud.
John Jay at Yorktown, 4:30 p.m.
Pick: John Jay, 14-13. This one came down to the wire back in the beginning of the season. Yorktown has showed no reason for me to doubt them, but the addition of Molly O’Reilly for the Indians has really taken their team to the next level.
