Girls lacrosse in the Lower Hudson Valley

Yorktown falls one game short

June
14

Yorktown’s undefeated season and state-title hopes were dashed on the final day of the season as the ‘Huskers fell to Garden City 12-7 at SUNY Cortland. Lauren Hayes (right) made 16 saves, but Yorktown’s offense went scoreless for 23 minutes and was held to seven goals (four less than its previous season low) by a tenacious zone defense that featured constant double-teams.

Hayes, Amanda Trendell and sophomore Lindsay Scott were named to the all-tournament team.

Tomorrow I should be posting the remaining all-everything honors (all-league, all-America, all-section honorable mention), though The Journal News Westchester/Putnam all-star and Rockland all-county teams won’t be published for a few weeks.

    Harold,

What I think lacrosse fan is saying is that there are no pictures in the picture gallery from the GC game only CA game…...

  6. lfl

She had 2 yellow cards which disqualified her from any awards.

  7. not a know it all

There were pictures from the final game in the gallery on Saturday night. They weren’t there this morning. What happened to them?

  8. lacrosse fan

  9. lacrosse fan

  10. Harold Gutmann

  11. lacrosse fan

thanks harold. i would love to see pics

  12. lacrosse fan

alright so your not gonna get back to me?

I never heard back from photo. I’m guessing that there’s no gallery because the GC game was shot by a local freelancer and not a staff photographer (the CA photographer went up to cover softball on Saturday), and we have to pay per picture. Not positive though so I’m asking again.

There were definately pictures in the gallery on the night of the Finals. The next night ….they were not there.
