Yorktown advances to state final

Sophomore Lindsay Scott had five goals and two assists as Yorktown defeated Section 5 champion Canandaigua 13-9 in the Class B semifinals today at SUNY Cortland.

Brittney Mabus and Jaimie Morrison each had two goals and an assist for the ‘Huskers (20-0), who continued their steak of winning each game by at least three despite facing the top-ranked Class B team in the state.

Yorktown will face Garden City (Section eight tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. at SUNY Cortland. Garden City has won nine state titles, including three straight in Class B. Yorktown has four state titles.
