Here is the official seeds and schedule. Teams were seeded based on their record in league games and mandatory crossovers. Teams in Division I were seeded first, followed by Division II and then Division III, which explains the disparity in records.
All game times are 4:30, unless both schools agree to change it. There was one tie, for the final seed in Class C, but Ardsley went ahead of Sleepy Hollow because of overall record.
(update, 12:30 p.m. Just got a message from the Section 1 coordinator about a change in the seedings — Byram Hills and Harrison have been flipped. I corrected it below)

Watch out for #26 on JJ, shes an animal
Mahopac is 6-9. They lost to JJ on Friday.
Thanks. I also added the win to JJ
Harold,
To make this interesting I think you should predict the scores and winners of the games in the first round…
Do you forsee any upsets? Who are the favorites? underdogs? What are your predictions? Does anyone have a shot to beat the top seeds in each division? Who are the sleepers in each?
Any other bloggers have thoughts?
I’m going to shoot for Pleasantville in class C. I think they can make it to the finals if they are on their game, and everyone is back and healthy. However, Nanuet will take the win on experience alone.
Let’s go for Wappingers over Mahopac in Class A. They have a lot of experienced athletes on their team, between sectional and state field hockey or soccer players, so the pressure of sectionals won’t really be an issue. They have some tremendous speed as well. If they can mark up nicely on defense and move the ball down the field quickly with that footwork, they just might have a shot.
It is always interesting as teams comprehend the difference in the power leagues. Does anyone expect the 13-1 Clarkstown South to be competitive with Yorktown. Or Hastings to have a chance in Section C. When you look at the numbers some girls have put up such as the Holy Child or New Rochelle offensive – does it just make the girls on balanced programs that hope to play in college scratch their heads. How far will they go in playoffs? Can there be upsets – yes but the seeding looks very good as it does on the college level. Let’s hope the refs are up to the games but based upon this season, a major question mark if they understand the rules and know how to apply them.
Old School..how about this
y-Town 18..Clarkstown South 6….
Second Round….Pearl river 13…P-Ville 9
Bronxville 11… Hastings 8
I think the power league concept is great so it will be good for programs that have run over opponents to see how the game can and should be played. I think your predictions are solid. The LI and upstate teams are the ones to watch. Key is Hudson Valley continues to get stronger which is good for the girls in all the programs. Let’s play.
IF Clarkstown South comes to play I think they will be competitive…don’t under estimate this young team that starts only two seniors and two freshmen. It is all about draw control and possession.
PVille will fall under some stiff competition in the C league. Hastings does not have a shot against Bronxville.
The A league is up for grabs. I would love to see an upset!
Clarkstown South will not have a chance against Yorktown’s skill, speed and experience.
South will be shocked by Yorktown’s all around team strength and will not score more than 5 goals. After the game South will be rethinking whether they really want to rejoin the power league next year.
laxtown
why do you need to be so critical…It is now secret that Y-Town will win…but that is not a reason for South to move up to the Power league…..The issue is which team in the Rockland team will move down cause you can’t leave 3 teams in the lower league
I think South knows they have a huge challenge.. it is obvious. There coaches are not idiots and know what they are up against.
However, give a young team some credit for rebounding from a 1-15 season last year to 13-1-2 this year against the same teams.
Like every good team Yorktown comes out playing. What clarkstown south needs to do is play good defence match up and hopefully that will give them a chance.
Every girls lacrosse player, parent and coach needs to get with the program. Fill out your team records at http://www.Laxpower.com. These stats are not filled in automatically. Someone has to go and submit the scores. I have manually go in and filled in nearly two hundred scores for this section this season. It is a great tool to use for preparing for games. please go and fill it out!!!!
