Good luck in Binghamton

The Empire State Games competition gets underway on Thursday, and Hudson Valley will know where it stands right away—the first opponent is Long Island. Here was my preview story on the new-look team.

I’ll be on vacation in California, but feel free to post your thoughts here throughout the week.

Here’s the full schedule. All games are at Binghamton East Middle School.
Thursday
9:00 a.m. vs Long Island
4:30 p.m. vs. Central

Friday
Noon vs. Western
3 p.m. vs. Adirondack

Saturday
10 a.m. vs NYC

Sunday
10:30 a.m. Bronze Medal game
noon Gold medal game

All-star/All-county teams

The Journal News Westchester/Putnam all-star and Rockland all-county teams have been announced. They can be found in a special section in today’s newspaper, but you can also see them on our special all-star web pages.

There were some very difficult choices, mainly because there were so many talented girls this year. Congratulations to everyone who made it.
