CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE 2008 HUDSON VALLEY WOMENS EMPIRE STATE TEAM MEMBERS! Best of luck…...

  2. laxx

Congrats to all the girls who were selected for the ESG team This year .It seems to be a Diverse group, carrying many talented players.Good Luck at the games girls and IGNORE the blog pot shots that may be coming your way….. .

You should all be very proud of your accomplishments !!!

  3. All league

With most of last years power players graduated – this will be an exciting team to watch – go girls!

  4. well done

Ok – alex doesn’t make the team again this year come on. Absolutely no offense to the other goalie from Pac. Hands down, Alex and Anna are the best goalies in the area/section. Alex, honey you got robbed. Keep your head up when those college coaches come calling next summer you’ll have your pick of lax schools and field hockey schools.

I wish the team all the best as you move forward towards your goal.

  5. sports fan

    Well done
I agree I believe Alex got ripped off two years straight. Maybe her dad should request to help out with coaching the goalies.

  6. laxx

I believe the goalie you are speeking of was selected by 10 seperate coaches, all of whom voted and NONE of which was her dad, as i saw him out on the field while they were voting….Hmmmm

  7. sports fan

First off I don’t speek (I speak) I wrote, and if you mean 10 separate coaches voted (yeah right)Callanan confirmed last year that he let Dad make the decision on the goalies.

  8. well done

Laxx, you continue to amaze me with the foolishness that flows from your fingers. Without going into the details of the 10 coaches on the field and the crap you think is legit – Alex Fitpatrick is one to the top two goalies in the section and was robbed, without a shadow of a doubt. As you continue to support the bullies in this game, for once can you think of what is right for the game and the girls. As there is no perfect system and ther will always be someone to damper the process. Yes, we always need good coaches and assistants and with all the money they get paid…not, take the top two goalies and take the next as an alternate. One got hurt when others tried to make decisions fo. the greater good? I think we can do better and our kids deserve better. Please!!!

  9. Same rules apply!!!

From Joe Lombardi on the boys blog:

“Just received the final 30-player roster (including 10 alternates) via e-mail from Hudson Valley ESG coordinator/coach Dave McNally.

Also, please remember, gang. As far as comments, I understand plenty of folks care deeply about this, but that is no excuse to be critical of a player who was or wasn’t selected.

I asked in the past that readers point out positives about certain players and not negatives about others in trying to make your point. Fortunately the overwhelming majority of the folks who visit here do.

Any player who is being discussed is a very good. It’s that simple. Please don’t lose sight of that fact. These are also not professional athletes. They’re putting in a lot of time, effort and energy into representing the Hudson Valley. Please treat them with the respect they deserve.”

The same rules should apply for the girl players

Alex and Anna are the best goalies in the area/section?? There were a few others also in the area/section. How far did NR & Maohpac get in the playoffs? I had the chance to see the Nanuet goalie a few times this year and I was impressed and I think she was on last years team. There are always going to be complaints and some may be justified but as stated in the last post…...Keep the comments positive and cheer on the HV girls!

  11. ...

Honestly when are you all going to stop..alex didnt make it last year and look how far the team went..gina kicked ass and i expect nothing less from her this year!

  12. no.

    1. Lacrosse is a team sport, one person, for example: goalies, can’t determine how far the entire team gets in playoffs, no matter how good.

    2. I believe the Nanuet goalie you’re referring to is Brianna Straut. Yes her play is very very impressive. But she wasn’t able to try out for the team because she is a senior. Correct me if I’m mistaken but when “well done” made that comment about Alex and Anna being the best goalies in the area/section they were probably referring to the ones able to try out for the team.

    3. Please. Please. Please. Do not compare goalies in different classes. Alex and Anna play in class A. Nanuet plays in class C. Not to say the teams that Alex (L/P) and Anna (N.R) play on are better than Nanuet. Each class plays different teams than the others. Although if Nanuet and Lakeland/Panas or Nanuet and North Rockland saw each other during their season, it’d be a different story.

    Thats all.

  13. no.

    oh! How could I?
Girls you’ve worked so hard to get where you are congratulations, you deserve it.
Keep up the hard work and commitment it will pay off in the long run.
Best of luck to you all.
Go out there and bring home the hardware! (Gold preferably)

  14. well done

    no. well done.

  15. orange

does anyone know when and where the girls will bepracticing,or if they have any scrimmages prior to the games.i want to get my youth girls over to see them practice and/or play..

  16. good idea

Practices are from 3-5 Mondaya and Wednesdays are at Suffern Middle School and Tuesdays and Thursdays at Mahopac High School.
Not 100% sure but I think they’ll be scrimmaging last years HV team on the 21st and 22nd.

  17. orange

thx good idea – if you here anything more on the scrimmages, let us know!

  18. sticks for sale

Anyone interested in buying lacrosse sticks? I am thinking of opening a store next march, and my garage is packed with inventory right now,

Just seeing if there is an interest right now,

I have tons of the new debeer impulse pro’s with the trigger heads and the crank shafts. Mostly in sky blue and white,

I have a few new debeer apex also crank shafted,

and I have a few debeer intuitions,

right now I am selling real cheap, I still don’t lnow about the store,

but the impulses would be $70, the Apex’s $85 and the intuitions $100,

let me know if there is interest, and I will post my email

  19. Former Employee

I hope that people begin to remember that these are just kids and that those of you who live your life on the computer or through your own child should get a life and maybe go to the gym

  20. laxmom
