Girls lacrosse in the Lower Hudson Valley

Big Tuesday

With Greeley and John Jay playing today, I was really interested to see who would be the top challenger to Yorktown in Class B. Well, the game ended in a 10-10 tie, so I guess I’m still wondering. Kirstin Lang scored six goals for the Indians and Courtney Miller had four goals and an assist for the Quakers.

The top individual performance of the day has to go to Jessi Steinberg of Suffern. The senior scored 10 goals, including the winner with 1:16 left as Suffern beat Yorktown 14-13. Kaitlyn Connell had four goals and an assist for the Cornhuskers.

There was another milestone at Mamaroneck. Senior Racquel Lividini scored her 100th goal early in the second half of a 14-13 win over Rye. She finished with five goals and two assists, giving her 102 goals in three years. Even better for her, Charlotte Gardiner and Lauren Rush scored in the last three minutes and Alexandra Michaelsmade two big saves as the Tigers came back to win. Liz Chabot led the Garnets with seven goals.

In other news: North Rockland kept it close, but Lakeland/Panas won 12-9 behind four goals apiece from Caitlin Collins and Chelsea Robinson. … Nanuet keeps rolling. Lauren Kahn had four goals and three assists in a 17-6 win over Edgemont. … Vail Horn and Carrie Poorman each had four goals as Bronxville topped Albertus Magnus 13-9. … Erin Cummings had three goals and three assists as Nyack beat Scarsdale 14-13. Margaret Souther had six goals for the Raiders. … Emily Biondi had five goals and an assist as Brewster defeated Clarkstown South 15-6. … Hadley Duncan had four goals and two assists as Holy Child fell to St. Luke’s 16-11. … Christina McClintock scored eight goals and Jena Goettisheim had seven assists in Rye Country Day’s 16-6 win over KLHT. … Fiona DeCaudin scored five goals as Kennedy beat Keio 17-6.
