The girls lacrosse blog is now in service.
This will be a two man effort this season  Harold Gutmann in Rockland and me (Daniel Kiernan) in Westchester.
Harold and I will be checking in to this blog regularly to post comments and thoughts about the girls lacrosse season as it unfolds. You will be able to leave comments in response to our posts.
I did the ice hockey blog in the winter, which evolved into a meeting place for players, fans, parents, coaches, and even some refs to have discussions. I’m not sure if that’s what this particular blog is going to turn into. It’s really up to the people involved. Every blog has its own unique character.
Some of the things we hope to share on this blog are weekly power rankings, quick updates about the season as they arise, extra commentary and photos from games that we’ve covered for the paper (like the pic below from a recent Pearl River-Tappan Zee game), updates on players from the area who are currently playing in college, and anything else we think of.

We’ve only covered one game each so far this season, and the big rivalry games haven’t really kicked in yet. We’ve got the bulk of the excitement ahead of us  Suffern and Lakeland/Panas’ first meeting of the season is next week, as well as the first John Jay-Yorktown game of this season (in which they will both be competing in Class B…stay tuned to the blog for a breakdown and explanation of the new league and class alignments for this season).

are you covering the Clarkstown North/Scarsdale girls match today?
nice to have this blog. thanks!
Keep an eye on Pelham, although they are in a weak league, they are going to surprise a lot of people this year!
